The City of Grand Prairie is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to be part of its Fire Department as an EMS Program Coordinator. The EMS Program Coordinator will perform a variety of duties, including:
Developing EMS curriculum, monitoring the QA/QI Program and training all EMS personnel including EMT, EMT-I, and EMPT-P. This is accomplished by utilizing clinical expertise, researching and developing innovative solutions and education opportunities for EMS, and serving as a consultant to the community. Other duties include maintaining the educational standards that are required for local (medical direction), state and national entities; creating and evaluating medical protocol; and evaluate paramedic personnel on clinical ride out observations on a periodic basis. This position serves as the primary liaison with the medical director.
This position is also responsible for the ongoing continuing education of EMS personnel by developing and implementing modules that relate to current trends, practices and techniques within the EMS profession. Maintain database regarding EMS personnel’s initial training, re-certification/licensure in EMT, Paramedic, CPR, ACLS, ITLS, PEPP, and National Registry.
Requires an Associate’s Degree or equivalent with major course work in EMS, Paramedic or related field. Candidate must have over three years in Paramedic field instruction experience in an EMS setting. Two years experience as a TDSHS instructor/examiner is a plus.
Requires a valid Class C Driver’s license and must be certified as a Texas EMT-P.
A Texas EMS Instructor Certification and Certified AHA Instructor must be obtained within six months of employment.
Salary Pay Range: $45,929 - $73,485 annually DOQ
